Special Museum Events 2008

January 19: Locomotive #9 work day.

January 26 & 27: WW&F participating at Amherst Train Show in Springfield, MA.

February 16: WW&F participating at Whitefield Lions Club Train and Doll Show at the Augusta (ME) Armory.

February 23: Locomotive #9 work day.

March 15: Locomotive #9 work day.

March 29: Spring Steam-Up.

April 19: Locomotive #9 work day.

April 25 - 27: Spring Track Extension Weekend. Come help extend our track.
Work is from 7 - 5; lunch and supper are provided by the Museum to the volunteers.

May 3: Annual Meeting. Steam trains. Hear the business of the museum for the prior year. The meeting starts at 2 PM, and will most likely be held at the Alna Meeting House on Rt 218 about 2 miles north of the Museum.

May 17: Locomotive #9 work day.

June 13 - 15: Two Footer Weekend. Modelers and prototype fans alike gather in Boothbay Harbor for the weekend. We'll probably do something special.

June 21: Locomotive #9 work day.

July 14 - 18: Work Week. Usually crews equipped with string trimmers clear the grass on the line.

August 3: Children's book The Train to Maine book signing 10:45 AM - 1:45 PM.

August 9 & 10: Annual Picnic. Food and fun for everyone. Trains operate on the regular timetable, but there are often extras, such as early engines on display. Picnic lunch from 11 - 2.

September 28: Septemberfest - a family event of German food and special tours, co-sponsored by the WW&F Railway Museum and the Sheepscot Valley Conservation Association (SVCA).

October 10 - 13: Autumn Track Extension Weekend. Come help extend our track.
Work is from 7 - 5; lunch and supper are provided by the Museum to the volunteers.

October 17 & 18: Halloween Trains. In the evening (after 4), Halloween trains for young and old alike. Proceeds split with Wiscasset High School Student Council.

November 1: Albion Day. Work crews gather at Albion to assist reconstruction of the station there.

December 20: Victorian Christmas. The Museum thanks its supporters throughout the year with free trains.
